R&D Manager – Pest Control

  1. Lead a team with global responsibility for Home Insecticides and Personal Care Innovation pipeline and enhancement of existing products in line with the defined Category Strategy.
  2. Have a sound understanding of consumer needs and insights for Pest Control, underpinning product development and delivery and resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities appropriate for Pest Control portfolio.
  3. To develop a sound commercial knowledge and a close working relationship with the Category Marketing GBMS(s) to understand the needs, thus ensuring the development team is able to respond to business needs.
  4. Work closely with the Pest Control OI team, Entomology team, R&D Pest
  5. Innovation Hubs, SCRS team, to ensure that projects and technologies are developed seamlessly and supported to become successful market launches
  6. With the R&D Category Director, generate the technical content of Innovation
  7. Development Briefs and ensure that all R&D sections are complete and consistent. Following authorization of the IDBs, to be accountable for:
  8. the management, communication and achievement of project development milestones and objectives
  9. liaison with appropriate development and supply chain personnel to ensure completion  of all activities to plan
  10. successful handover to Supply and launch to the market
  11. Grow internal expertise through honing team formulation skills to become recognized experts and apply this knowledge to develop innovative product solutions in-house and with external partners (Suppliers, copackers, universities, start-ups..)
  12. To build a cohesive, motivated and professional team within a results-oriented culture, where personal responsibility/initiative, teamwork, and mutual respect are key and to develop team members fully.
  13. To be responsible for ensuring that all development activity within the team conforms to legislative, Health and Safety and environmental requirements, including the adoption and tracking of laboratory best practices
  14. To support communication with external partners (suppliers, universities, co-packers.) to ensure the continued delivery of innovative and consumer relevant products that help to grow the business
  15. To proactively track and respond to competitor threats by understanding their development activities
  16. advising Category Marketing team and the business of competitor threats identifying technical solutions in response to such threats
