R&D Associate – Outside Innovation (Feasibility)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an integral part of the category R&D product development team and develop, monitor and execute outside innovation projects outlined for the category
  • Utilize formulation skills and technical expertise to assess the feasibility of our partner products to our business needs and product strategy and jointly develop products with our strategic partners
  • Lead and advance multiple projects through the feasibility and assessment of innovative technologies
  • Market Mapping to identify suitable external partners for R&D projects
  • Engage external partners and form sustainable relationships critical to the success of Outside innovation projects
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop, prioritize and execute projects
  • Work cross-functionally and lead project teams to achieve key milestones and objectives
  • Understand and acquire working knowledge of OI tools like Expernova, Mintel GNPD, Euro monitor Passport etc
  • Managing senior stakeholders and communicating with impact

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelors/master’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline or engineering e.g. Pharmacy, Chemistry or BE/BTech
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Healthcare/FMCG/specialized formulation development orgs in a formulation role
  • Strong formulation expertise and understanding of raw material chemical interactions.
  • Understanding of chemistry Chemical actives, surfactants, solvents to support robust product feasibility
  • methodologies used to support product and new claims development
  • Intimate understanding of the product life cycle including R&D, Manufacture and Distribution
  • Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivated, a bias for action • Good leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically, develop tactics and measurable implementation plans and able to transform solid thinking into action • Ability to communicate with impact
  • Ability to handle the complexity of a matrix organization
  • Capable of building strong working relationships and motivating teams to deliver outstanding results with or without hierarchical relationships
  • Commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues
